"Orient" Meets Vienna

March 2024

Photography and Visual Storytelling Course for Beginners

In March I started a visual storytelling training project with ORGES (Orientalische Gesellschaft), part of the Oriental Studies department at the University of Vienna. The 10-week program trains students and interested individuals from outside the university on photo project creation. The project will be completed by a photography exhibition by the trainees on their personal interpretation of the notion of “Orient”.

Creating visual content and managing social media platforms

September 2024

I provided a training workshop on visual content creation and social media management for the Austrian Arab Women Association, in collaboration with social media trainer Nami Ghostine. This workshop equipped the association’s communication team with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in smartphone and DSLR photography, video editing techniques, and creating diverse social media content. Participants also learned about social media app functionalities, analytics, and algorithms, with a primary focus on Instagram.

Upcoming: "TRÄUME ... TRÄUMEN" Photography Exhibition

April 13, 2025, Schallaburg Castle.

My upcoming artistic collaboration with Anne Glassner as part of the *TRÄUME … TRÄUMEN* exhibition at Schallaburg Castle combines performance and photography to create a dreamy-like ambience that explores the delicate boundaries between reality and fantasy. Inspired by Anne’s practice, which examines the nuances of public and private spaces, particularly through themes of sleep and rest, this project evokes feelings of vulnerability and contemplation.

The photographs, along with potential music and a performance, will be set against the backdrop of the castle’s rich history, its Gothic and Renaissance architectural features, and its old ghost stories. This atmospheric setting enhances the photographic impressions of dreams and highlights the unbounded relationship between dreams and reality.

Schallaburg Castle,  Niederosterreich from April 13 to November 2, 2025.
