Cultural Projects Management

My approach to management is rooted in passion, creativity, and a focus on the human aspect of every process.

My experience encompasses my role as a manager at Dar Al Mussawir in Beirut. Here, I facilitated the organization of various cultural events, including exhibitions, art residencies, and photo festivals. I also oversaw essential services such as photography and videography, training programs, digitization and archiving projects, equipment management, and more. Additionally, I led participatory photography and video projects with the NGO Zakira, engaging diverse audiences with a range of tools and techniques.

Beirut Image Festival

2019 and 2022

Beirut Image Festival was launched in 2019 by Zakira – the Image Festival Association, in collaboration with Dar al Mussawir and the Union of Arab Photographers. The first of its kind in Lebanon and a pioneering experience in the Arab World, the Beirut Image Festival is a regional photography fair held in Beirut and other major Lebanese cities and towns.
During the pandemic the festival was paused and repeated again in 2022, despite the major economic crisis and political instability in the country.

In cooperation between Dar al Mussawir, Beirut and the Foundation of Sustainable Development in Mountain Regions (FDDM), Switzerland the program aimed to raise awareness about the challenges facing mountain regions through artistic exchange and residencies. Between 2016 and 2022 I facilitated residencies for talented photographers from Lebanon and Syria, providing them with a platform to share their unique perspectives and stories.

An exchange of six young and emerging talents in photography and video to initiate a dynamic cultural exchange between Lebanon and Morocco to explore projects on mountain areas themes.

Soura wa Hikaya

Soura wa Hikaya (eng. Image and Story) is a visual storytelling and media training project executed by Zakira – The Image Festival Association. Zakira is an NGO that works on promoting awareness about marginalized communities by giving them visual storytelling tools to support them to tell their own stories.
Soura wa Hikaya is a two-phase project: The first phase was done in 2017 in collaboration with UNICEF Lebanon and included photography, writing and social media training for adolescents from different nationalities and backgrounds. Soura wa Hikaya II was done in collaboration with the Norwegian Embassy in Beirut and focused on teaching short film making techniques.
