Training

I believe that everyone has a unique story to tell. My goal is to collaboratively explore ways to make this story connect with the audience while maintaining its personal essence.

I have trained and coached trainees from diverse social backgrounds and ages including youth, university students, refugees or communication staff of NGOs and UN agencies on photography, short-film making and storytelling. As a trainer, my objective is to empower people by providing them with the necessary technical tools and assisting them in conceptualizing and transforming their thoughts and ideas into images. My training programs are designed based on the audience, the desired goals and the media used, often in collaboration with other trainers on skills like writing, social media and advocacy.  Their objective is to provide a tool for personal expression and establish a foundation for further professional development in media- related professions.

Starting in 2009, I collaborated with Zakira – an NGO whose aim it is to give a voice to the voiceless, training marginalized communities across Lebanon such as Syrian and Palestinian refugees  or stateless persons on photography and filmmaking. From 2011 to 2023, I taught the Introduction to Photography course at Dar al Mussawir in Beirut, sharing my passion for photography with over 1500 students and introducing them to different fields of photography such as studio, photojournalism, film photography and darkroom.  In 2021 and 2022 I was part time instructor of Cinematic Production at school of media at University Antonin, Beirut.

Visual storytelling is a powerful tool of communication that can resonate through lines of languages and definitions. Its flexible nature, that accommodates for personal to collective topics, in abstract to realistic representations, makes it an intuitive means of expression that can provoke reflection, spark dialogue, and challenge deep-rooted societal constructs.
